Oh hey! I’m Tabitha and I’m so happy you’re here. I believe that everyone has something that makes their heart race and keeps their mind buzzing and yearning for more.
For me, it’s jigsaw puzzles. Puzzles all day and puzzles all night. Puzzles for breakfast and puzzles on puzzles.
For reals? no. I’m just a little nervous and I’ve been at this for awhile.
I’d love to tell you I’m good at everything I do (including authoring a “professional-sounding” About Me page) but nobody’s good at everything. I may be average at puzzles but I’m great at crafting beautiful photos. That’s why you’re here, right?
My favorite pictures are the ones where I had to make all kinds of animal sounds and crazy faces and your kid finally bursts out laughing the silliest laugh we’ve ever heard and we’re all in tears its so hilarious. It’s the moment when your 6-day-old daughter gave us a sleepy smile and you’re so happy and exhausted and you look at each other like “YES OUR KID IS PERFECT I’M SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW”
I’ve taken a lot of photos since I first started my business in 2012. My ideal session is one where you invite me into your home and say “hey, sorry it’s a little messy” and I say, “Are you serious? You just had a baby. Pretty sure you’re good” and then I scoot your couch toward the window and you lay your sweet newborn nugget on a cloud of blankets and magic and I get to work. I photograph his microscopic toes and perfect sleepy lips and you get to sit back and relax. When he wakes up and starts to get fussy, you feed him and rock him to sleep while I snap some pics of you with your emoji-heart-eyes as you smooth his 7 wisps of hair back in place. Then we take some more in different outfits and positions and when we’re all done I put your living room back together. I carefully pick out the best images from our session, edit them each individually till they’re warm and crisp and real. Then I send them over and wait anxiously while you view them, hoping they’re everything you ever wanted. And then you text me,
“Tab. I’m so happy I’m literally crying. Thank you so much <3”
And I’m just so grateful you trusted me to photograph this fleeting time in your life. It’s because of folks like you that I get to do what I love for a living.
So… yeah! I don’t really know how to end one of these things. Should we play 2 truths and a lie? Is that how we’re gonna do this? Looks like it:
- I have traumatic recurring dreams about automatic flushing toilets
- I had an appendectomy the day after I shot a wedding
- I can solve a rubik’s cube in 14.9 seconds
